Memories (“Ricordi” in Italian)

This sculpture in bronze was created for Gianfranco Coppetti who wrote an amazing book about a little boy growing up in Florence, Italy at the time of the Nazi invasion. The book is in Italian and entitled “Una Strada Bianca che…Ricordi di un ragazzo del ’36 ” (in English: “ A White Road that…Memories of a kid from 1936” ). The handwriting in the upper left of the sculpture is his actual handwriting. This sculpture was presented to him in the summer of 2017 as a memory of the book, a memory of our friendship, and a memory for his family of summers we all spent together at the Tuscan beach.
